Dealt on the web and on iPhone and iPad · Effective September 27, 2026

The short version
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell or share your data.
  • The iPhone and iPad app collects nothing. Your games stay on your device and in your own private iCloud.
  • The website stores what you enter so it can show it back to you, plus the sign-in details you choose to give it.
The iPhone and iPad app

Players, games, scores, notes, groups, presets and any photos you add are stored:

  • On your device, and
  • In your private iCloud database when you're signed in to iCloud, so your devices stay in sync. It belongs to your Apple Account; only you can read it. We, the developer, cannot.

The app has no accounts, sends nothing to our servers, and contains no analytics or advertising code. It asks for photo library or camera access only when you choose a player picture, add a photo to a game, or photograph a paper score sheet to import.

The Rules screen has the rules of the default games built in. For a game type you added yourself, it looks the game up on Wikipedia: that request carries the game's name and nothing else, and Wikimedia's privacy policy applies to it.

The assistant. On devices with Apple Intelligence, the app can answer questions about the rules and about your results, write a recap of a finished game, and read a score sheet from a spreadsheet or a photo. This runs on one of two Apple models:

  • On your device. Nothing leaves it.
  • Apple's Private Cloud Compute, a larger model on Apple's servers, used when you are online and Settings › Assistant › Use Private Cloud Compute is on. The request is sent to Apple with what it needs to be answered: for a rules question, your question, the game's rules and any house rules you wrote; for a question about results, your question, your players' names and the results it looks up; for a recap, the facts of that game, with the names of who played; for an import, the photo or the spreadsheet's cells. Apple provides this service and its privacy protections apply to it. We, the developer, never receive any of it.

Turn that switch off and the assistant uses only the model on your device.

You control your data from Settings in the app: Export Backup and the CSV exports give you a copy, and Delete All Data removes everything from your devices and from iCloud.

The website (dealt.hooteye.com)

If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address (with Apple this can be a private relay address), your name, and from Google your profile photo link, plus an account identifier from that provider. We use them only to sign you in and keep your games with your account.

If you use it without signing in, a cookie ties the games you create to your browser.

What you enter: player names and nicknames, avatars and uploaded photos, games, scores, notes, place names you type, events, groups and presets. These are stored so the site can show them to you and compute your stats.

Cookies and storage: one session cookie that keeps you signed in, and your theme choice saved in your browser. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

Support messages

When you contact us through the support form or by email, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply. We use them for nothing else, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Who helps us run the website

These providers process data only to deliver the service:

  • Cloudflare: hosting, security, and short-lived request logs (such as IP address and browser type).
  • Supabase: the database that stores website accounts and games.
  • Apple and Google: only if you choose to sign in with them.
  • Google Fonts: the site's fonts load from Google, which sees your IP address when they do.

The iPhone and iPad app uses none of these. Its only services are your own iCloud account, Wikipedia when you open the rules of a game it doesn't have built in, and Apple's Private Cloud Compute for the assistant when you leave that switched on.

Your choices
  • Delete players, games and other content on the website at any time.
  • To see, correct or delete everything tied to your website account, or to close it, email support@wisconsam.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
  • For the app, everything is in your hands on your device (see above).
Children

Dealt is for all ages and has no ads or social features. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what a parent or guardian enters, such as a family member's name on a scorecard. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. Questions? Email support@wisconsam.com or use the support page.
